Microsoft Mouse Mischief

본 애플리케이션은 학생들을 대상으로 대화식 PowerPoint 강의를 가능하게 해 줍니다.

 선생님의 경우, '예/아니오' 또는 '답을 고르는 형식의' 질문을 포함하는 PowerPoint 슬라이드를 만들 수 있습니다. 학생들은 각자의 개인 마우스를 사용하여 PowerPoint 슬라이드 수업에 참여할 수 있습니다. 최대 25개의 마우스가 동시에 접속할 수 있어, 25명 이하의 전체 학생들이 수업에 참여할 수 있습니다. 필요한 것은 선생님을 포함하여 수업 참여 학생 수 만큼의 마우스 및 이 마우스들을 연결할 수 있는 USB 허브 장치 들 및 1대의 컴퓨터와 수업을 위한 빔 Projector 스크린 만 있으면 됩니다.

 

 본 애플리키이션은 유치원 및 초등학생들을 대상으로 설계되었습니다. 자세한 설치 및 사용 방법은 아래 내용을 참조하시기 바랍니다.

 

Quick Start: Installation

1. Downloading Mouse Mischief Beta Package

    If you are using Windows XP or Vista, install .NET Framework 3.5 SP1.

2. Double click on the Microsoft Mouse Mischief.exe file.

3. Ensure that the "Install authoring" option is selected during the install process.

    Note:   If this option is not available, it will be because PowerPoint is not installed.

 

4. Once install is completed open new or existing PowerPoint presentation.

5. If Mouse Mischief installed successfully, Mouse Mischief toolbar will appear as part of the PowerPoint ribbon.

 

Quick Start: Setting Up Your Classroom

To play a Mouse Mischief presentation in multiple-mouse mode.

  you will need a Windows PC with at least 2 USB mice connected to the machine.

In the classroom, you will need a USB mouse for every student, and an extra one for you the teacher. All mice need to be connected to the PC you play the presentation from.

 

Both wired and 2.4 GHz wireless mice will work.

 

 

                

Important Note: You will need to use USB Hubs to connect all of the Mice to the PC.

 

Note: 27MHz wireless mice will not work due to interference issues.

In a classroom, you should connect your PC to a projector to have a larger monitor to accommodate the large group.

 

Otherwise, you can work with a small group of students, sitting around a single desk.

Now you are ready to play your presentation.

 

 

Quick Start: Creating Presentations

Open new or existing PowerPoint presentation. (Files can be .pptx or .ppt)

Create content slides (text/images etc.) on subject matter similar to a regular PowerPoint presentation.

Click on the Mouse Mischief toolbar in the PowerPoint ribbon.

1.       Yes/No.  Inserts Yes/No slide into presentation.  

2.       Multiple Choice. Inserts Multiple Choice question into presentation.

3.       Drawing.  Not available for Mouse Mischief Beta. 

4.       Select Answer. Selects correct answer for your Multiple Choice or Yes/No slide. 

5.       Preview Slide.  Not available for Mouse Mischief Beta.

6.       Play.  Plays Mouse Mischief presentation in multiple-mouse mode so that students can answer questions with mice.

7.       Publish.  Creates special Mouse Mischief file (.mmpx)

8.       Mouse Mischief Help.   Opens the Mouse Mischief help contents.

To insert a Multiple Choice qeustion, click and hold on the Multiple Choice button. In the drag-down menu select how many answer choices you want for your question.

 

Insert Yes/No questions by clicking on the Yes/No button.

Next, insert your question and answers into the slides by typing in the text area.

Important Note: To have images as your answer just ignore the Click to add text area and insert images using the rest of the PowerPoint Ribbon.

To save the presentation, use the normal PowerPoint save option.

Play presentation in multiple-mouse mode by clicking Play. 

 

Note: Using PowerPoint’s “play slideshow” option will not play the slides back in multiple-mouse mode.

Alternatively, if you wish to play presentation on a PC without PowerPoint installed, publish file as Mouse Mischief presentation.

Quick Start: Playing Back Presentations in Multiple-Mouse Mode

To play the presentation you made in multiple-mouse mode click Play in your Power Point presentation.  Alternatively, you can double click on the Mischief Presentation. 

 

Note: Using Power Point’s “play slideshow” option will not play the slides back in multiple-mouse mode.

Move your cursor into the box and press Enter on your keyboard. Your mouse should change to the arrow indicating that it is the teacher cursor.

Next, direct students to select teams or play individually.

 

To play individually, students click on the box on the bottom.

 

To play on a team, the   students must select on the colored pods. Each pod represents a team.

 

Students click on pod to select team or individual mode.

Students playing as a team have similar cursors. (Note, the number above the pod indicates how many are on each team)

 

 

Students playing as individuals have different cursors.

When everyone has either joined a team or clicked on the individual area, move your mouse to the bottom of the screen to bring up the presentation controls

On the teacher controls, click the right-arrow, to go forward and back between the slides you created. 

 

Note:  The students cannot click any of these buttons with their mice.

Students answer questions with mice by clicking green button which corresponds to the correct answer.  Cursors will disappear once the correct answer has been selected.

 

Note: In team mode, students must select the same answer for it to be chosen.

Once all students have selected an answer the correct answer is displayed automatically.

 

At any time, you can display the results by pressing the ‘End Poll’ button on the teacher controls.

To exit at any time you can press ALT and F4 keys at the same time using the keyboard.

 

Otherwise, upon reaching the end of the presentation you can Close or Restart the presentation from the beginning.
